Towards a New Knowledge Elicitation Algorithm

چکیده
The task of transferring knowledge from a human to a computer has always been challenging, and even more so when the knowledge comes from multiple sources. It has been the role of knowledge acquisition tools to help in solving this problem. In this paper, we introduce a novel elicitation algorithm for knowledge base construction. An experiment is currently under way to evaluate how natural this algorithm feels to humans and how well it reflects their way of reasoning.

Towards New Learning Strategies in Intelligent Tutoring Systems
Various co-operative tutoring systems have been recently proposed as a continuation of intelligent tutoring systems. They encourage learning as a jointly constructed knowledge rather than a transfer of expertise from the teacher to the learner. These environments can be strengthened using elicitation techniques which encourage the acquisition process from a learner point of view. In this articl...
متن کاملMaking Rational Decisions Using Adaptive Utility Elicitation
Rational decision making requires full knowledge of the utility function of the person affected by the decisions. However, in many cases, the task of acquiring such knowledge is not feasible due to the size of the outcome space and the complexity of the utility elicitation process. Given that the amount of utility information we can acquire is limited, we need to make decisions with partial uti...

Knowledge plays an important role to the success of any organization. Software development organizations are highly knowledge-intensive organizations especially in their requir ement elicitation process (REP). There are several problems regarding communicating and u sing the knowledge in R EP such as misunderstanding, being out of scope , conflicting information and changes of requirements. All...
متن کاملKnowledge engineering and psychology: Towards a closer relationship
Knowledge engineering projects deal with a wide range of domains within organizational and academic contexts. A number of elicitation techniques are used to acquire knowledge from experts. Most of these techniques originated within psychology but have been developed by knowledge engineers to become more structured, efficient and systematic. Until now, nobody has tried to re-apply these modified...
متن کاملTowards a new generation of security requirements definition methodology using ontologies
In recent years, security in Information Systems (IS) has become an important issue, and needs to be taken into account in all stages of IS development, including the early phase of Requirement Engineering (RE). Recent studies proposed some useful approaches for security requirements definition but analysts still suffer from a considerable lack of knowledge about security and domain field. Onto...
